MY DESIGN JOURNEY

Creativity has always been a part of my life to various degrees. As a child I liked to draw and make things with paper. While studying architecture at university, I sold mobiles in a handcraft cooperative    I retired from “work” in 2014. This has allowed me to refine my design style and create unique original designs which you won’t find anywhere else. My inspirations come from things I see around me. The pictures I’ve collected from walking and travelling around Sydney and Melbourne and the natural and design worlds often become part of a new card idea. Patterns and textures are also an inspiration. Each design develops it’s own personality. Often the initial design concept is very different from the finished artwork as I am taking on a journey of discovery. When I’m satisfied with the design concept it is published online for sale. Designs are available for purchase from my shop.

HANDMADE GREETING CARDS

Once I receive your order, each card is personalised, printed, folded, packaged and posted by myself in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

I believe in being as environmentally friendly as possible. These are the things I do to achieve this:

Paper & envelopes: I use paper manufactured from cotton rag.

Packaging: The cards are protected in cellophane which is 100% biodegradable. To protect the card or print from being bent in postage, I include a cardboard insert cut from used cardboard boxes.

Transport: You will often see me cycling, on public transport or walking around the city looking for new ideas, buying materials and making deliveries.

Waste: There is very little wastage from my processes, but everything I can is recycled.

Gail in Canberra had many friends celebrating their 70th birthdays. She commissioned a different design for each based on their likes and character. This one was for Alan who was a fan of Eurovision and movies.
